For South African Citizen with valid passport for 6 (six) month from the date of entry can be obtain visa on arrival in Indonesian port of entry or through the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Pretoria or Indonesian Consulate General in Cape Town.

¨ Applicants for a visitor visa must possess a passport that is valid at least 6 months beyond the arrival date in Indonesia, except for Limited Stay Visa and Multiple Business Visa applicants who must possess a passport that is valid at least 1 year beyond the arrival date in Indonesia.

 

¨ The validity of a visitor visa is 90 days. Applicants who fail to use the visa in the designated time period must re-apply for a new visa.

 

¨ Children traveling to Indonesia on their own or on their parents passports are required to apply for visas. The application processing fee for children (of any age) is the same as that for adults.

       The requirements for applying for the Visa are as follows:

 

a.   Transit Visa.

 

A transit visa is required for visitors who are in transit and would like to go beyond the immigration check point area for less than 5 (five) days.

A multiple business visa may only be issued with the necessary authorization from the immigration office in Indonesia, which should be arranged by the two companies involved. The immigration office will fax the authorization letter (if granted) to the Embassy in Pretoria.

Each child travelling on their parents passport must also follow the same requirements mentioned above.

c.   Required Documentation for a Socio-Cultural Visa

 

The length of stay for a Socio-Cultural Visa is 60 days, and can be extended in Indonesia.  Other than the required documentation below, applicants over the age 60 must also provide travel insurance and documents to verify their pension/income.  Applicants must pay a non-refundable application processing fee of 40, and provide the following documents:

 

¨ An application form, completed and signed, two passport size photographs attached. 

¨ A passport with a validity date at least 6 months beyond the date of entry into Indonesia.  

¨ A copy of applicants return ticket or booking order (boekingsbewijs) from a travel agent.

¨ An invitation letter from an institution in Indonesia, or applicants family member or friend in Indonesia with his/her ID (KTP) attached.

 

 

d. Multiple Entry Business Visa.

 

This Visa cannot be extended and is valid for several/multiple journeys for 12 (twelve) months with each visit not exceeding 60 (sixty) days.

 

Requirements :

 

¨ A valid passport for 18 months from the date of entry.

¨ An original application form in duplicate with 2 (two) recent passport-size photographs.

¨ A return ticket and an itinerary from travel agent.

¨ An invitation from the company in Indonesia as well as a letter of approval and confirmation of employment by the local company are required.

 

Granted only upon receiving Authorization from the Directorate General of Immigration Affairs in Jakarta, Indonesia. Delay time : 21 (twenty one) days, due to the Authorization from the Directorate General of Immigration Affairs in Jakarta, Indonesia.

 

 

 

Each adult is permitted to bring, on entry, a maximum of two litres of alcoholic beverages, 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 100 grams of tobacco and a reasonable quantity of perfume. Photographic equipment and typewriters must be declared and are admitted provided they are taken out on departure. Prohibited from entry are the fol lowing items: narcotics, arms and ammunition, TV sets, radio and radio casette recorders, pornography, fresh fruit, printed matters in Chinese characters and Chinese medicine. All movie films and video casettes will have to be deposited for review by the Film Censor Board.
