Table Top Meeting between Indonesia-South Africa Tourism Industries

On April 15th 2010, the Embassy of Indonesia in Pretoria with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia held a Table Top Meeting for businessmen from the tourism industries of Indonesia and South Africa at the Southern Sun Convention Center, Johannesburg. The Indonesian tourism industry businessmen came from West Java, Bali and Lombok. South African tour operators and representatives from Airlines were there to take part in this event. The meeting was opened by the Ambassador of Indonesia to South Africa, H.E. Sjahril Sabaruddin. In his opening speech Ambassador Sabaruddin stated that the purpose of this meeting is to increase the relations between Indonesia and South Africa in the tourism sector. The Ambassador also mentioned that Indonesia is a potential tourist destination for South Africans, therefore the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Pretoria supports and encourages any efforts in the promotion of Indonesian tourism and the Embassy's doors are always open to anyone who wishes to seek information about Indonesia.

The Director for International Promotion, Mr. I Gde Pitana later gave a comprehensive presentation on Indonesian tourism and its beautiful destinations. He encouraged the businessmen there to maximize this opportunity to increase the relations of the two countries in the tourism sector.
